Welfare and Rehome

Welfare of the RagaMuffin cat is one of the primary concerns of the Society. The UKRMCS Welfare & Rescue Fund has been set up to provide the financial support to care for cats in emergency situations, and to pay for boarding and veterinary costs for cats awaiting new homes.

As well as caring for rescued cats and finding suitable homes for them we also offer a network of help and support, and up to date news via our dedicated website to generate interest. We hope this will provide a platform for pet owners to be able to see and fall in love with a rescued RagaMuffin Cat.

RagaMuffins are very people orientated cats and form a strong bond with their owners which is why it is so important for us to find suitable and permanent homes as soon as possible to reduce any trauma or stress to the cat(s).

If you are unable to offer a permanent home to a RagaMuffin in need but are an experienced cat owner and would like to help by offering a short-term foster home, please contact us using the details below.

Rehoming/Adoption Service

Cats that are released into the Society’s care by their former owners are rehomed to those wishing to give a permanent home to a Ragamuffin. You can be assured that the utmost care is taken to assess each cat individually for its character and temperament, and its previous life style is taken into consideration. When we are certain that we have found the right home then arrangements will be made for the rehome of the cat(s).

Donations

We are a non-profit making organisation, so any donations go directly to funding the care of rescued RagaMuffins. Some of the costs involved in our Rescue programme include transporting the cat to a foster home, food, ensuring the cat is up to date with its vaccinations, microchipping and spaying. As you will appreciate, some of these can be quite expensive and even the smaller things add up surprisingly quickly, so we are always grateful to people who support our work.
